TERESA SAPEY

TERESA SAPEY

We design spaces with feelings. Our projects aim at arousing emotions and sensations in those who use our spaces and products.

Graduated with honors from Turin Polytechnic in 1985, Teresa Sapeyopened her own studio in Madrid in 1990.

Architect Sapey is not afraid of professional confrontations and accepts challenges of any kind. She is known internationally for her work related to the redesign of “non-places”, urban traffic spaces such as parking lots, bridges, walkways and squares that were initially designed without an overall logic plan. Her style is characterized by a calibrated and specific use of colours and lights. The firm’s philosophy speaks of freedom of thought and expression mixed with creativity, functionality, art and design, aimed at creating “tailor-made” spaces.

In recent years, Teresa has been involved in the education sector with various collaborations with La Villette in Paris and participating in workshops and events held by Domus Academy in Milan. She directs the Final Project of the IED, teaches at the Universidad Camilo José Cela in Madrid where she is in charge of an artistic research laboratory, she is honorary professor at the Rey Juan Carlos I University and, since 2004, she is present as visiting professor at the Master of Design and Architecture at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
