Spazio Papiri Eventi

An exclusive location framed by the Circus Maximus

The venue stands on Via dei Cerchi (previously Via del Circo Massimo) and is part of the Palatine, birthplace of the history of Rome. The street follows an ancient route known as the Vicus Consinius. With its 17th-century facade acting as a scenic mask crowned by elegant baroque ‘oculi’, the building was once part of the Farnese Gardens. In 1313 it was acquired by the Congregation of Benedictine Monks and adjoined to the neighbouring church of Sant’Anastasia as a monastery.

Today the complex is home to a 15-room Boutique Hotel, two spacious salons for events (the Upper Salon and Lower Salon), a private office and a stunning inner courtyard.

Spazio Papiri opened on 8 June 2021 with an exhibit featuring the New York artist Marion Greenstone (1925 – 2005), including 22 large works on canvas and 30 smaller works on paper. Following the great success of her previous exhibition at the Orangery, Villa Borghese (during which 8,000 visitors appreciated a selection of her Pop art works), the current show highlights pieces ranging from abstract Expressionism to Minimalism (1957 – 2000).
The exhibition is curated by Francesca Pietracci and Roberto Bilotti Ruggi d’Aragona.
