INTERIOR EVOLUTION KIEV
The expression “Interior Evolution” is the motto of the architectural bureau Materia 174, which can be also interpreted as “innovation, emotions, special execution”.
In the process of working on each project, the bureau keeps at the idea of sustainable development in these value directions. Their new office in Kiev has become a kind of self-presentation, a demonstration of a new format of the working space. The concept is based on chamber architecture, interior design which is comfortable for the modern man.
CEO Office: table & chairs by ALIVAR, chandelier by VIBIA, decorated slab by THE FACTORY, glass shelf by RIMADESIO.
Architects area: tables & chairs by VALSECCHI HOME, lamps by FLOS, table by CINQUANTA3, paper bags by UASHMAMA.
The entrance black door as a stylish focus – at full height – sets the aesthetic sequence, which continues beyond the edge of the entrance. Four glass planes erase geometric constraints, allow maximum admittance of natural light, bring a sense of infinity. Materials are always at the center of attention and are key components. Concrete, marble, leather, wood, metal, glass – the palette of material sensations sets the inspiration and relaxation that are so necessary in the creative work process. Here, “materia” (matter) does not disappear under a layer of paint or other finishes, but rather presents its true nature, plasticity, character.
Kitchen: porcelain Stoneware by REX CERAMICHE, stool by EMECO.
Bathroom: tables & fittings by CERAMICA CIELO, taps by FANTINI, tiling by REX CERAMICHE.
“Material” significance plays a major role in the conceptual structure of each bureau project. Opposition to tension and stress intensified faded palettes, weightless glass structures, thin contours, spatial pauses between objects. In accordance with the current interior trend, a kitchen was created – a “cocoon” hidden behind swinging doors with a rotary mechanism. This technique not only intrigues, but also gives dynamics to the space in which the turbulent life boils. The kitchen is designed and executed according to Materia 174’s design concepts, as well as all the the finishes, furnishings and entrance lobby. In the office of Materia 174, the idea of a continuous whole surprisingly touches every point, every element. Monumental proof of this statement is the 8-meter “philosophical” bench made of black stone that, like the front door, has “magnetic” properties. And pulls to settle on it, to try to find out form a whole city some creative inspiration and join with it to a new stage of evolution.
