Ivan Preti
BIOGRAPHY
Ivan Preti’s (Monza, 1994) artistic training began at the Liceo Artistico Preziosissimo Sangue in Monza, continued and expanded with professional experiences in architecture and design, and then turned to painting, to which Ivan devotes himself in his studio in Lissone, where he currently lives and works.
Since 2013, he has taken part in various exhibitions, the most recent of which are the collective “Aurum” at the ARC Gallery (Monza) and “Arte si Mostra” at Palazzo Ferrajoli (Rome). In October 2019 he exhibited at the 15th edition of the Premio Byron in Terni, finishing fourth, and will be present with some works at the Affordable Art Fair (Milan) in February 2020.
Fascinated by light, colour, matter and the subtle thicknesses that animate the surface, Ivan’s research is resolved in an expressive language that combines thought and gesture, combining the various pictorial elements in an original, calibrated and exciting lexicon.

Absolute protagonists of the space, those of Ivan Preti are works-surprises, built by levels and discovered by degrees. Reliefs that emerge unexpectedly, secrets that surface. Organized and globular, mobile, floating forms: bubbles, hemispheres, fluid and irregular spots; or grids, interweaving, thin filaments. Always new effects, between opaque and iridescent, where the brilliant colours of the enamels and acrylics change one into the other, a delicate fading that can become sharp where the gold raises the light – a gold that embellishes, abstracts, transports to a new dimension, evaporating and yet always so topical, tangible and enveloping in its material plasticity. Polymateric works, halfway between painting and sculpture, that breathe, change, live: a perpetual metamorphosis in search of balance, harmony; in short, of a beauty that the work finds in itself: in its plasticity, in its forms, in its colours.
