FUNCTIONAL MINIMALISM
Claudio Fusina for Gentilin Design
The studio Claudio Fusina and Partners is based in Via Santa Tecla 5, in the city of Milan, nerve centre of financial, commercial and cultural activities.
Founded in 2010 as a wish fulfilment of young architect Claudio Fusina, the practice is now an established reality. Since then he has seen his team growing with satisfaction and has completed more and more ambitious projects, not only in Milan or Italy, but all over the world.
To collaborate with architect Fusina there are Gustavo Minosso, graduated in architecture in Sao Paulo, architect Flavia Sensale and engineer Nicola Billa.
The studio deals with the interior design of private homes, hotels, restaurants and nightclubs, but the highlight is undoubtedly the realisation of retail stores.
With great attention to detail, careful analysis of the geometry and the use of finest materials, every solution bearing Fusina’s signature is unique and original: a true temple of good genuine Italian taste.
Claudio Fusina has lately designed a new collection of essential and multifunctional metal furniture, suitable for furnishing any room in the house as well as any bespoke contract.
To assign the task was Gentilin Design, a new brand in the Italian product design scene, launched by I.M.T. (Industria Meccanica Trissinese), historical company founded half a century ago in Vicenza and specialised in the design and production of metal furniture.
The collaboration was born almost like a challenge between the architect and Emanuela Gentilin (Marketing Director of Gentilin Design) who intended to add value and give a more contemporary footprint to the family business, trying to emerge in a new dynamic market with a catchy mission: to create customisable space-saving products at a competitive price, without compromising their quality.
“For the hallway, due to the limited amount of space, I thought of space-saving objects, modular, colourful, adaptive and ironic. A concentrate of personality for any entrance area.”

“For the living room, the collection expresses its playful character with bright colors, sculptural forms, combinations of metal blades and volumes fluctuating on the walls. This experimentation – made of lines, surfaces, solid and void – does not compromise the functionality of the objects.”

“In the bedroom, the atmosphere heats up with a greater presence of wood in furnishings. Its darker shades deliver elegance and sobriety to the sleeping area. The forms themselves are more traditional and thus more reassuring.”

The bathroom decor suggests primarily a sense of cleanliness and orderliness. Thanks to their essential lines, these objects are easily detachable to allow a perfect hygiene without sacrificing the sophistication of forms.”

Design is excellent, lines are essential and volumes are well balanced: metal becomes light and merges with the surrounding space. These guidelines put mankind at the centre of attention, responding in a creative way to everyone’s daily needs and adapting to any type of space.
Presented in Milan on the occasion of the Fuorisalone 2016, the new product line signed by Fusina offers creative solutions for young couples struggling with the refurbishing of their first home, but also for those wishing to buy quality items at an affordable price. A collection with a recognizable character that runs through all the rooms of the house and can be adapted to suit functional needs.
