FABIO VIGNOLO

FABIO VIGNOLO

A freelance architect since 2011 and founder of FVA – Fabio Vignolo Architetti, an architectural design studio based in Turin, until 2016 a partner in BAM! – bottega di architettura metropolitana, winner of numerous national and international awards. He has always been interested in processes that combine local development with a sustainable use of resources, and designs at different scales of intervention, from master plans to design products. The experience gained during his studies in the USA at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Torino led him to delve into the themes of Digital Fabrication and Rapid Pro¬totyping: both of which are essential for the development of his projects, through continuous prototype studies, defining himself as a more or less digital architect-craftsman. In recent years he has been studying prefabricated and engineered wood building systems, together with nZEB high energy efficiency design, applying these techniques to his professional practice.
