Massimo Adario was born in Rome in 1970 into a family of printers. He graduated in architecture from the University of Rome “La Sapienza” (1998), after having attended, as Erasmus grant holder, the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Valladolid (ETSAV) and, as a free-mover, the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM).

Before opening his own studio in Rome in 2007, Massimo Adario worked in Spain, collaborating with F.co Javier Bellosillo Amunateguiin Madrid, and in the Netherlands, where he lived from 1999 to 2001, first in Amsterdam where he worked at Ton Venhoeven CS studio and with Kruunenberg & Van Der Erve Architecten studio and then in Maastricht, collaborating for two years with Wiel Arets & Associates.
